On November 27th in Business Centre Club in Warsaw 5th annual Polish Forum For Proximity Card Payments and NFC took place. This years’ forum, under the auspices of NFCIdea.pl, attracted over 150 people from Poland and abroad. As always we have invited leading experts in telecommunications and financial market, government institutions and companies that offer the best technological solutions. The Forum began with the presentation from Mr. Jerzy Sadowski, President of the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications, who laid a substantive ground under next panels.

Our General Partner has been Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa. The company has prepared an hour-and-a-half discussion panel with: Tomasz Machowski from Citi Banku, Adam Olszański from First Data, Dariusz Kuciech from the club Legia Warszawa, Piotr Wolski from Gemalto, Krzysztof Pyć from National Chamber of Clearing and Artur Grzechnik from PKO B.P.

Piotr Mechliński from T-Mobile has been the moderator.

During the discussion, with the participation from the audience, key issues concerning the future of NFC in Poland have been raised:

Who is to be the integrator of NFC payments solutions – bank, MNO or a third party?

NFC – acquisition or activation?

Consumer and merchant acceptance of NFC payments

What NFC use has the biggest potential?

How many payments standards? One for all, or each individual?
This year’s Forum has answered many fundamental questions about NFC market development in Poland and has widened the horizon for opportunities from this technology. Conference has created the conditions  for the exchange of ideas, making new business partners and creating new plans for the cooperation in developing NFC market in Poland.
